Position Goal: Assist physicians and other staff members with care of patients in producing high quality radiographs.

Position Responsibilities:

• Carries out radiology requisitions and views. Uses radiographic technique, PACS, and assists other staff members as needed.
• Operates all portables and C-Arm equipment.
• Memorizes what views each physician requires on exams.
• Assists patients in getting into the positions required to get the radiographs needed with the occasional need to lift the patient. 
• Takes x-rays following established procedures for patient care and safety.
• Stocks necessary supplies.
• Uses a variety of radiation protection and shielding materials.
• Assists with and provides direct training and supervision to student technologists.
• Ensures equipment is in working order.  Reports any malfunction to supervisor in a timely manner.
• Imports and uploads outside CDs for clinic.
• Maintain a repeat rate of less than 5%.
• Should be available to work when the need arises and could be contacted on any given day/time to assist with the department’s needs
• If called, is required to respond and answer the call. If unavailable, is required to call within 30 minutes of initial call.

Experience: One year experience in radiology required.
Education: 

Required:

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Enrolled in final year of radiologic training program approved by the ARRT.

Special Qualifications: 

Required:

• BLS certification.
• Knowledge of radiographic technique
• Knowledge of PACS
• Knowledge of musculoskeletal anatomy.
• Have working knowledge of HIPAA requirements.
• Knowledge of all types of portables, C-Arm, CR and DR X-Ray equipment.
• Valid Driver’s License and satisfactory Motor Vehicle Record (MVR).
• Travel is required.
