Position Goal: Assist physicians and other staff members with care of patients in producing high quality radiographs.
Position Responsibilities:
- Carries out radiology requisitions and views. Uses radiographic technique, PACS, and assists other staff members as needed.
- Operates all portables and C-Arm equipment.
- Memorizes what views each physician requires on exams.
- Assists patients in getting into the positions required to get the radiographs needed with the occasional need to lift the patient.
- Takes x-rays following established procedures for patient care and safety.
- Stocks necessary supplies.
- Uses a variety of radiation protection and shielding materials.
- Assists with and provides direct training and supervision to student technologists.
- Ensures equipment is in working order. Reports any malfunction to supervisor in a timely manner.
- Imports and uploads outside CDs for clinic.
- Maintain a repeat rate of less than 5%.
- Should be available to work when the need arises and could be contacted on any given day/time to assist with the department’s needs
- If called, is required to respond and answer the call. If unavailable, is required to call within 30 minutes of initial call.
Experience: One year experience in radiology required.
Education:
Required:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Enrolled in final year of radiologic training program approved by the ARRT.
Special Qualifications:
Required:
- BLS certification.
- Knowledge of radiographic technique
- Knowledge of PACS
- Knowledge of musculoskeletal anatomy.
- Have working knowledge of HIPAA requirements.
- Knowledge of all types of portables, C-Arm, CR and DR X-Ray equipment.
- Valid Driver’s License and satisfactory Motor Vehicle Record (MVR).
- Travel is required.
